I often have people approach me on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms asking for a free reading. They literally want me to stop what I’m doing, throw down some cards, use my psychic awareness and tell them their futures, their fears and what’s taking place in their lives. They want free advice and direction. They seem to feel that my time isn’t important, and that I should use my psychic gifts for their own gain. They are perfectly okay with taking something from me without giving anything in return.

This is a common problem with lightworkers and psychics. Many people expect us to give them readings or advice for free.

Many of us were called into this field because we have a genuine love and concern for people. We want to help you. We want to fix your broken hearts and give energy to your souls. And while we wish that we could offer our services for free, the truth is that we can’t. If we did, we wouldn’t be able to pay our own bills or make our own way in the world. We wouldn’t be able to help others.

The Law Of Reciprocity

Thanks to the Secret, many people are familiar with the Law of Attraction (which is truly a subsidiary of the Law of Vibration). What they aren’t aware of is the Law of Reciprocity. This law tells us that in order to remain healthy, there must be an equal energy exchange between two or more parties. You may be familiar with the term “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” That is reciprocity in effect.

The Law Of Reciprocity can also be reflected in the Temperance card of the tarot.

TemperanceTarotCard

It shows an angel standing with one foot in the water and one foot on land. She is holding two cups, one in each hand. She appears to be pouring water from one cup into another. In my minds eye, I see her constantly pouring the water back and forth, back and forth. Why? Because the cups represent actual people. They represent our bodies. The water represents our energy, and how we are constantly giving and taking, giving and taking. In order for water to stay fresh, it must be moving. If the water stops moving in either of these cups, it will become stale, muddied and polluted, which would make it useless.

It’s the same with people. Our energy is constantly shifting back and forth, and this energy can be in the form of favors, barters or even financial exchange.

In order for you to appreciate and to benefit from a reading from a psychic, there must be an energy exchange on some form. If there isn’t, then our energy becomes diminished, because we aren’t given anything back.

There’s also the nature of karma, which tells us that what you give you get back, whether in this life or in the next. If you try to get something for nothing from someone, in turn, the universe will try to get something for nothing from you and on a much larger scale. On the same token, if you give out money, love, friendships, trust and all the good things that you want out of life, more of that will come back to you too. It’s a win/win.

Healers Have Never Been Free

We all know that doctors, nurses and people in the medical field have financial obligations. Therefore, when we go to the doctor, we know that there will be some type of payment due. Whether or not the doctor’s fees are fair is a different story. But the fact of the matter is that when you visit a doctor for health issues, you expect him to charge a fee.

The same is true of energy workers. Our healing is on a spiritual level, and our tools are very different, but they still take a lot of energy, and like those in the medical field, we have financial obligations too.

Even in ancient times, there was still an exchange of some sort. In those days, people lived in communal. In these communals, people used their skills to take care of each other. The elders and seers received food, clothing and shelter from the community and in return, these seers and shamans would use their gifts to tell the people what they needed to know.

The closest thing that we have to communal in our land are churches. Churches build their own communities but they are also observant of the law of reciprocity. After all, churches charge 10% of your income in the form of tithing and donations. Psychics, Energy Workers and others who do their work in the spiritual field usually charge much less.

So before you ask a psychic for a free reading, keep in mind that we live in the same world that you do. We have mortgage payments and utility bills just like you do. We do not get our shelter, food and clothing for free, as that time has long passed.
